This very international event was organized byTU Munich’s Center for Digital Technology Management CDTM . During the Startup Night, presentations of the five award-winning startups took place. Afterwards, there were discussions with motivated students about the challenges of the food industry and startups in general. The participants could feel a lot of founder mentality and incubator spirit.
During the EIT Winter School 2017 30 students from many different study backgrounds and countries came together to tackle the challenges Europe’s food system will face in the future. The participants worked in interdisciplinary teams, identified problems, designed prototypes and viable solutions and pitched their results in front of a panel of experts. The teams started out at the Technical University of Munich for the first week, traveled to the University of Cambridge together for the second week and were also given the chance to receive further online coaching by the Queen’s University Belfast on how to take their startup idea to reality.
