EIC Summit 2018 – Gewinner in der Kategorie Food Agritech

At the 2018 EIC Innovators‘ Summit in Berlin, FreshDetect Managing Director Oliver Dietrich was selected as the winner of the pitch competition in the food agritech category, introducing the world’s first portable measurement device BFD-100 for detecting the total viable count (TVC) in meat within seconds.

The pitch participants were selected from the EU’s European Innovation Council. A jury comprising investors, venture capitalists and business angels evaluated and recognized the best presentations. Funding through the EU's Horizon 2020 programme

The European Union is funding the high-tech start-up FreshDetect GmbH from Pullach near Munich as part of its Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The funding is intended to facilitate the distribution and use of the BFD-100 hand-held measuring device for the fast and accurate inspection of food throughout Europe. At the same time, the funding project supports further technical developments in order to optimally exploit the potential of the technology for food production.

 

 

Gipfelstürmer - 4th place in the SZ founder competition

The SZ Economic Summit annually honours the most innovative founders. After all, founders who develop new ideas are decisive for the future of the German economy. FreshDetect GmbH has reached 4th place among the more than 100 participants and six finalists with its innovative product freshdect BFD-100 in the start-up competition “Gipfelstürmer” in 2017.

The Süddeutsche Zeitung reported in two articles about the practical hand-held measuring device for determining the total number of germs, a little more detailed in “The glow of freshness” and a little more concisely in “A revolution for freshness“.

Seal of Excellence – Holder

The ‘Seal of Excellence’ is a quality label from the European Commission. It is awarded to project proposals which have been certified as of high quality in the review process of Horizon 2020 – the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The European Commission would like to recommend promising projects from the SME instrument in Horizon 2020 for financing. This can be done through (public or private) sources at national, regional, European or international level. By submitting the Seal of Excellence in application procedures to other institutions, they can dispense with re-evaluation of the application due to the proven high quality of the project.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Science4Life – Gewinner der Konzeptphase

The Science4Life Venture Cup 2014 has awarded the ten best business ideas with prize money totalling 10,000 euros. The winners also include two companies from Bavaria.

Since 1998, the Science4Life start-up initiative has been paving the way for young entrepreneurs and those who want to become entrepreneurs – with a nationwide business plan competition in the future fields of life sciences and chemistry. In addition, the association, which has been registered since 2003, offers a comprehensive information service consisting of downloads and (online) seminars as well as special workshops.

Business Plan Competition Wirtschaftswoche 2014 - Nomination

07.11.2014 – The WirtschaftsWoche has relaunched its founder prize. This is already the eighth time it has put the prize out to tender and significantly upgraded it. In addition to a package of benefits in kind, the list of prizes also includes a considerable amount of start-up capital. The jury reads like a Who’s Who of the German business scene and is well wired in the scene (e.g. Internet founder and Telekom supervisory board member Lars Hinrichs or Tobias Kollmann, chairman of the advisory board “Junge Digitale Wirtschaft” at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology). This high-caliber committee will decide this year who will win Neumacher, the WirtschaftsWoche-Gründerwettbewerb 2014. FreshDetect GmbH has managed to fight for victory with another five finalists.

 

 

German representative 2014 at "get in the ring" and second in Western Europe

On 12.09.2014 the application phase for the German preliminary decision of Get in the Ring 2014 ended. The national competition was organised by BAND (Business Angels Network Deutschland e.V.) in cooperation with RKW Kompetenzzentrum. Although the final result was very close, it was clear that FreshDetect was the winner and thus the representative of Germany. Thus FreshDetect moved into the regional final of Get in the Ring on 17.11.2014 in Dortmund, where it competed against 5 other start-ups from Western Europe. FreshDetect was able to achieve a fantastic second place there. Business Angels network Germany registered association. (BAND) represents the interests of the German Business Angels scene. More than 1500 Business Angels are organized in the BAND affiliated networks. Business Angels are undisputedly the most important early-stage financiers. Thus, they have an outstanding economic significance for the development of new innovative companies that secure employment and prosperity. BAND is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy.

Munich Business Plan Competition 2013 - Nomination

08.07.2013 – The “Munich Business Plan Competition”, organized by the founding initiative BayStartUP since 1996, supports competitors in three stages on their way to independence. The first stage involves the presentation of the business concept, the idea and the definition of the customer benefit. The second stage already contains the rough business plan and the concept for exploiting the market potential is explained. The third and last stage aims at the final business plan and requires statements on the implementation of the concept as well as a concrete financial plan. FreshDetect GmbH was nominated as one of the best seven teams out of 86 submitted contributions. Congratulations!

In the final phase, the nominees had 8 minutes to present their company and then had to answer questions in a further 15 minutes. BayStartUP is the institution supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Bavarian business community for start-up, financing and growth in Bavaria and organizes business plan competitions, workshops for start-ups, coaching and the Bavarian financing network with business angels and venture capital investors. In autumn 2014 BayStartUP emerged from the network nordbayern and evobis.
